Fin de semaine de course en Californie

La recrue de l’équipe Norco Bicycles/Premier Tech, David Fugère, continue sa mise en forme et son apprentissage en Californie. Il a participé à deux courses cette fin de semaine.
Samedi, il a pris part à la Rosena Ranch race, une course sur route de 88 km. Avec un fort vent, le peloton s’est rapidement séparé en deux groupes et David est resté pris dans le deuxième. Avec la plupart des équipes représentées dans le groupe de tête, pratiquement personne ne voulait assumer la poursuite.
Dimanche, c’était la 2e course de la Ontario Races Series, un critérium de 75 minutes. Il y avait toujours beaucoup de vent, avec des rafales de 80 km/h. David fait bien attention de rester dans les 15 premiers du peloton afin d’éviter les cassures. Le peloton est resté bien groupé et la course s’est jouée au sprint. Malgré un mauvais placement, alors qu’il était environ en 30e position dans le dernier virage, David a su bien remonter pour terminer en 11e position.
Voilà qui annonce de belles choses pour le début de saison !

Weekend of race in California
One of the recruits of Team Norco Bicycles/Premier Tech, David Fugère, carries on building his form and his learning in California. This weekend he entered two races.
On Saturday, he competed in the 88 km long Rosena Ranch road race. With a strong wind the peloton quickly split in two groups, and David was caught in the second one. With most of the teams having a rider on the front, no one wanted to take the chase.
For Sunday, it was time for the second race of the Ontario Races Series, a 75 minutes criterium. Again there was a strong wind with gusts reaching 80km/h. David pay attention to being on the front with the first 15 riders, to be sure he is not behind if the peloton splits. The peloton would stay together and come down to a sprint to decide the top honours. Although David was too far back around the 30th position, he managed to finish strongly with an 11th place.
These results show good signs for the coming start of the season!
