Short course… demential speed!

03/05/2015

800 metres laps, four 90⁰ corners, 1h15 of race, 70 riders on the start line – among which were some of the favorites of the provincial peloton. No need to tell more; everyone knew that everything was in motion to set ablaze the streets of the warm municipality of La Présentation!

The first half-hour of this criterium went on at an infernal speed. With an average speed close to 45 km/h, the corners were chaining up fast and the accelerations were as merciless as frequent. By mid-race, more than half of the peloton had already abandonned, unable to bridge the gaps left by some strained, out-of-breath riders.

Kevin Archambault distinguished himself by his efforts during the race. He ways always at the pushing hard at the front, leading the peloton and even going on a solo breakaway for a few laps. This earned him a satisfying 9th place. Sébastien Rousseau finished right in his wheel for an 11th place, while the two other surviving Norco/Premier Tech p.b. ChewPod riders managed to finish not so far back, with the decimated peloton.
